Julie Sings - Tribute to Marilyn Monroe
I should’ve been born in the 40’s or 50’s.
I love that era with their clothing and music. I have this fascination with Marilyn Monroe. I wish I could look like her. I can’t help it - I think she’s one of the most beautiful people to grace the face of the earth. If you’ve ever seen her movies, you’ll see that due to the social expectations of the movie genre they really inhibited her to show her true acting talent. I think she was brilliant. I mean how many times and how many ways can you play the blonde-beauty-without-a-brain character…typical old Hollywood.
Anyway…Here are a few songs that I love - recreated by me. Now, here’s the deal: I recorded these at my home without any editing. I can’t afford to go to a recording studio, so the background tracks, and a one-shot deal with each recording, is all I get. That’s it…no editing…all raw, so there are mistakes. But maybe you’ll enjoy them as much as I enjoy singing them. Oh - and this was prior to me taking voice lessons, so I had a long way to go regarding my tone, etc… (I hope you can hear them, if not, please let me know as this is my first attempt to post songs)
