Wouldn’t You Know…New Art

The title of this posting is not the actual piece of art, but the title of the circumstance which is the start of the journey for this particular piece.

The title of the piece itself is called “Demolition”. For a couple of years now I wanted to create an art piece of a disintegrating plaster wall. Well, I finally accomplished it…somewhat…It took me 4 paint-overs, but I did the best I could to make my vision become a reality. The funny thing is that by the end I wanted to punch a hole in this piece and call it a day. I was so frustrated with it.

I was invited to participate in an event in which a bank was throwing an appreciation party for their high-level executives and high-profile clients. Artists were to submit several art pieces and the bank people (Citibank) would pick the pieces they’d like to have exhibited, and hopefully sold. They picked this piece, the one that I was going to rip apart. And thank goodness because I don’t have a place for it in my home, so I’m hoping it gets sold, quickly. They also picked out some photos named “Fort Worth” (the spur) and “Dallas” (the shoes)(see below).

So, the title fits: Wouldn’t you know the one art piece that brought on so much stress and frustration, and I disliked, the Citibank people oooooh’d and aaaaah’d over. It makes me feel so good!

So cross your fingers that I sell something because again…I don’t have a place for this big 48″x48″ canvas in my home. I’ll keep you posted.
